Paul Gardner

Managing Director – Glan Agua UK

Paul is the Managing Director of Glan Agua (UK) Ltd.

 

Paul has over 13 years’ experience in the construction industry across multiple sectors (including mining and utilities) and has gained significant international exposure throughout his career in Ireland, Australia and the United Kingdom. His professional qualifications include an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chartered Engineer (Engineers Ireland) and he holds an MBA from UCD Michael Smurfit Business School.

Having joined Glan Agua in 2015 to spearhead the successful expansion of Glan Agua into the UK market, Paul now manages the well-established UK business and continues to further the company and group ambitions in the region.

Andrew Young

Operations Director

Andrew Young is a Chartered Engineer and holds a B.Eng. Hons in Civil Engineering. Andrew first joined Glan Agua in 2009 and has over 13 years’ experience working in the municipal sector, he has worked on various water & wastewater infrastructure projects. As Operations Director for Glan Agua Ireland, Andrew’s key focus is to provide sustainable, robust and reliable solutions for our clients and deliver project objectives within programme, budget and to the highest Heatlh, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.

 

Andrew has extensive experience in his field and has delivered MEICA/Process design and contract management for numerous projects, some of which have obtained recognition through awards.

Karl Zimmerer

Group Managing Director

Karl Zimmerer has over 20 years of experience in the design, construction and operation and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure throughout Ireland, with over 15 years in a Senior Management position.

 

Karl’s professional qualifications include an Honours Degree in Structural Engineering and a Master Degree in Project Management.

 

Karl is a founding member of Glan Agua Ltd and has successfully developed the business into one of the leading companies in the water services sector in Ireland providing a full range of services throughout the Industry.

Dr. John Fox

Operations Director

John holds a PhD in Environmental Microbiology from NUI Galway. He has over 7 years of Environmental Engineering experience in a wide variety of areas including Wastewater Bioengineering, Water Treatment, Regulatory Compliance, Industrial Effluent, Project Management, Laboratory Analysis, Process Optimisation and Scientific Writing.

 

He is currently managing 30 plants in Galway, Roscommon and Cavan. John also manages the Mobile Centrifuge Unit for Glan Agua Ltd.

Aine Healy

HSQE and Sustainability Director

Aine Healy first joined the Glan Agua team in 2011 and has progressed to HSQE and Sustainability Director for the Group. She has over 18 years’ experience managing HSQE on large infrastructure projects and has extensive experience working in the Design, Build and Operation sectors in the water and wastewater industry. She is also an elected member on the National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) National Executive.

 

With over 15 years’ experience in management systems, she has the expertise to manage and tailor the Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental and Sustainability Management Systems to ensure alignment with the current construction climate. Aine is extremely committed to increasing sustainable construction, innovation and efficiency across the business. Aine leads by example and constantly aims to increase our HSQES performance and achievements within the BHSL Group.

Nuno Santos

Technical Director Ireland & UK

Nuno Santos is the Technical Director of Glan Agua Ltd and has over 20 years of experience in the design, construction and operation and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure, Facilities Management, and Asset Management throughout Ireland, Portugal, Brazil, UK and Angola, with over 16 years in a Senior Management position.

 

Nuno’s professional qualifications include an Honours Degree in Environmental Engineering.

 

Nuno was involved with Glan Agua from its inception, helping with its growth in the water industry.

 

Nuno is an international multi sector client orientated professional, from O&M, Design and Consulting in Water and Wastewater sector, to Facilities Management, Tendering & Commercial Management and General Management on the Consulting Engineering sector.

Tom O?Connor

Chief Commercial Officer

Tom O’Connor, has a first class honours degree in Civil Engineering and currently fulfils the role of Chief Commercial Officer and Shareholder of Glan Agua Ltd.

 

Tom was a founding member of Glan Agua Ltd at their incorporation in 2008. He has over 20 years experience in Civil Engineering while working in Ireland, the UK and Overseas, covering many disciplines such as the Design and Build of Water and Waste Water Projects, Road and Bridge projects, Marine Works and General Building. He has a strong focus on delivering a professional service to Glan Agua Ltd’s various clients and fostering a spirit of cooperation with our partners in the industry.
