Purchasing Administrator

Main Responsibilities

  • General purchasing of goods, plants and services and hiring of general machinery;

IT Manager

Glan and MEIC are looking for an accomplished IT Manager to manage, develop and support the firm’s ICT infrastructure, services and software portfolio. The role is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and enhancing the ICT infrastructure, systems management, service delivery, operations and in house training. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a background of IT support and management in a medium sized organization.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supervises and maintains the IT infrastructure.
  • Ensures that sufficient cover is provided at all times such that IT service levels meet the requirements of the organization.
  • Participates in the preparation of the IT budget.
  • Defines IT policies and procedures and maintains technical documentation for the firm.

Glan and MEIC are looking for a HSQE Advisor

Main Responsibilities

  • Continuous promotion of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) standards on projects;
  • HSQE Project and documentation support including Preliminary and Construction Stage Safety and Health Plans;
  • Ensure compliance with current Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and maintain awareness of legislative changes and industry standards;
  • Obtaining and reviewing safety documentation from Clients, Suppliers and Subcontractors
  • Preparation of Tender and Pre-qualification documents for future work;

The Role

Due to ever increasing workload and backlog Glan Agua wish to hire an experienced, enthusiastic, collaborative and results driven project manager, within our design stage project team. You will be managing an experienced team of individuals in the development of designs in process, mechanical and civil fields, along with the pricing of projects. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of Process Mechanical and Civil installations of both water and wastewater treatment plant design and build environment, with 10 years’ experience required.

You will be an integral part of developing the design and pricing of our clients’ projects, in a transparent and collaborative fashion. And will be responsible as Project Manager of managing the design/delivery team to ensure that all deliverables are met and that they are presented to a high standard. You will report to the Programme Manager and Directors on day-to-day basis on progress and commercial matters.

You will be intuitive, innovative and strive to deliver the best approach and design to exceed the clients’ expectations, while maintaining a team spirit in a collaborative manner.

Main Responsibilities

  • In early phase of the project, manage the proposal team to deliver successful proposals, and organize the set-up for the engineering delivery team, including a technical, and commercial aspects.
  • Plan start up and manage design and pricing activities in collaboration with the client’s project management team
  • Setting up a project execution plan, design management plan, a project schedule in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish the overall budget for the design stage and ensure that it is followed by the team and the various partners.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience or more in engineering/tendering or design delivery, including more than 5 years in infrastructure projects
  • 5 years and more of experience in a project management position of design teams for complex water/wastewater projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a team in a Lump-Sum, DBO or DB type delivery
  • Experience in Owner Engineer role would be an asset.
  • Experience in delivering engineering under different partnership relations; ie. Frameworks, Joint-Venture, Prime-Sub.

Project Engineer (Mallow)

Glan Agua are seeking experienced water and waste water project engineers to work within our Project teams for design and construction of water and wastewater installations throughout Ireland. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years specific and relevant experience in the design, construction, installation and/or commissioning of water and wastewater facilities. The candidate must be degree qualified in the fields of civil or mechanical engineering.

Main Responsibilities/Requirements

  • Support the Project Manager
  • Have working knowledge of AutoCAD and capable of drawings for construction and to coordinate between contractors to ensure services fit.
  • Prepare as-built drawings for inclusion in the Operations & Maintenance manual.
  • Source suppliers, obtain quotes and submit successful suppliers for engineering approval.
  • Monitor and expedite equipment deliveries.

This will be an office-based role in our Head Office in Loughrea, Co. Galway. Due to continued success in the Irish business, the company is expanding with a number of dynamic and exciting roles.

Main Responsibilities

  • Production of 2D general arrangement drawings from 3D Revit Models & CAD 2D drawings
  • Preparation of GA co-ordination drawings in multi-discipline fields including civil, structural, mechanical and electrical
  • Ensure models / documentation is developed in line with company BIM protocols and procedures
  • Participation in drawing/ design review meetings
  • Ability to set up a Revit project from start, in addition to the ability to create families within projects

Graduate O&M Engineer

Glan Agua and MEIC are looking for a Graduate O&M Engineer to join the team.

Each Engineer has been assigned ownership of certain bundled or contracted WTP’s or WwTP’s. It is the Engineer’s responsibility to ensure the quality and quantity of any treated water produced or final effluent treated is within specification, and that each of the assigned sites, their contents and individual process’ are maintained as required. The Engineer is the first point of contact for the WTP/WwTP Plant Operator in terms of any site process/assets/consumables/spares issues. Also, the Engineer has to ensure that all site HSQE measures inc SOP’s/SOPP’s are being adhered to, as well as monitoring of Energy usage and implementation of energy efficient measures.
All O&M Engineers should work in conjunction with each other and may be required to undertake duties at various WTP’s / WwTP’s both within and outside of assigned bundles/contracts. It is the Engineers responsibility to ensure that their dedicated bundles/contracts are covered by the O&M team members while on scheduled/unscheduled leave or days off duty.

Normal Duties – Working Hours

  •  SCADA maintenance, checks and reporting observed issues to the Plant Operators & O&M Manager
    • Client Monthly Status Reports – Refer to SOP-19-067-G How to Complete Monthly Status Reports (Client Group Water Scheme GWS) and SOP-19-068-G How to Complete Monthly Status Reports (Client Irish Water.
    • Client Quarterly Payment Applications – Refer to SOP-19-064-G How to Complete a NFGWS Payment Application.
    • Quarterly reporting and attending Client LMC meetings
    • Ownership and maintenance of the contract SharePoint O&M Site, Microsoft Teams & Glan Agua shared drive folders where applicable.
    • Assist Plant Operators with the WTP/WwTP Maintenance Planning and execution, including scheduling specialist trades as required.
    • Procurement of site consumables/spares within contract budgets
    • Scheduling/Implementation of HSQE/Process/Energy site audits
    • Documenting/Scheduling/Implementation of specific tasks/projects with Plant Operators and Specialist
    Contractors.
    • Any equipment or process faults that cannot be rectified within the O&M team, must be reported and
    addressed with the members of the Process, Commissioning, Mechanical and/or Electrical teams.
    • Design and maintain the contract on call Rota.
    • Deliver the CRF (Capital Replacement Fund) projects when & where applicable.
    • Contract Energy usage and improvement projects are to be managed and implemented while coordinating with the Energy team.
    • All major issues are to be communicated to the assigned O&M Manager via email.
    • Emergency escalations are to be communicated by phone.

Emergency Duties – Outside Working Hours

  • While it is the Plant Operators responsibility to monitor the WTP/WwTP’s outside of normal working hours, there may be occasions where the Engineers site assistance is required to ensure operation of the WTP/WwTP’s are maintained at the standard required.

Ireland and the UK, Glan Agua require an experienced programmer/planner to work
with an enthusiastic, skilled and motivated team from our Galway office.

Main Responsibilities

  • Creating, maintaining and reviewing a programme of work
  • Liaising with design team, engineers and clients
  • Producing progress reports and forecasts for team members, clients and stakeholders
  • Breaking large jobs down into phases of development
  • Using project management tools to plan timeframes
  • Working with estimators to calculate the resources needed for a project
  • Planning contingency programmes in case timeframes change
  • Demonstrating knowledge of construction
  • Assist in bids for tender
  • Managing several projects programmes with the support of junior planners
  • Working between offices and construction sites (if needed).
  • Provide detailed support and assistance to the project
  • Produce reports and programme commentary to customers on particular reporting requirements
  • Produce programmes / reports as required by the project team, including indication of deviation from the baseline programme
  • Formally issue programme updates to the customer as required by the contract
  • Attend progress meetings with internal and external customers and deliver presentation on project progress
  • Develop and produce fully logic linked and integrated tender programme comprising the design, procurement, construction and commission compliant with tender sum, design and methodology without assistance
  • Ensure planning and programming is produced on time

Requirements

  • +5 years mid-senior level planning experience
  • Strong communication including writing reports and presenting

Pre-Contract Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Pre-contract Manager to join our Process & Water team, working on projects in Ireland and the UK, based at our office in Galway. Reporting into the Commercial and Marketing Director.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the estimating & bid process for all tenders
  • Managing and supporting the teams on each of your projects
  • Working closely with the commercial team, designers, planners and site teams
  • Subcontract management
  • Client interface; attending regular meetings with the client and reporting on design and project completion timelines
  • Effective monthly reporting to the Frameworks Manager
  • Taking responsibility for the programmes

Requirements

  • HNC/HND/BSc in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering or equivalent or by experience
  • A background of delivering projects to budget and program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project and development of construction programmes
  • Water experience preferred (clean water or wastewater)
  • Excellent communication skills with people of all levels

Site Engineer

Glan Agua are seeking experienced Site Engineers to work within our project teams for the design and construction of Water and Wastewater infrastructure projects in the Tipperary, Limerick and North Cork area.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Project Manager
  • Management of Subcontracts and Junior staff
  • Procurement of goods and services
  • Monitor progress against the program and issue progress reports
  • Produce look ahead programs to assist and improve production
  • Review/Prepare method statements and risk assessments
  • Quality Control
  • Management of Environmental, Health and Safety issues
  • Document control, recording & transmitting information & drawings
  • Preparation of construction records and as-built drawings
  • Attending Site Production Meetings
  • Liaising with Clients, Statutory Bodies and stakeholders

Experience/Qualifications Needed

  • Degree in Mechanical, Civils Engineering or Project Management
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Engineering or Construction works, water or waste water experience desirable but not essential
