Glan Agua and MEIC commenced site activities in Castletownbere on the 22nd of February 2021, and are delighted to announce that the project has commenced process proving. This marks the end of untreated sewage entering Bantry Bay. The new wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Drom South has the ability to serve a population equivalent of 2,200 people. In addition to the construction of the new WWTP, the works involved the construction of sewer rising mains, gravity mains, 4 new pumping stations throughout Castletownbere to bring untreated wastewater to the new WWTP.
