The Glan Agua team has made exceptional progress over the last 2 months on the upgrade of the Mallow Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), on behalf of Irish Water. The project involves upgrading of the existing Mallow WWTP, upgrading of the foul and storm pumping at Mallow Bridge and the provision of stormwater storage at the new Mallow Bridge Pumping Station. Once completed, this project will increase the capacity at the plant to benefit homes and businesses in Mallow and the surrounding area.
As seen in the photos below, the RC works are progressing well in both the pumping station and storm tank and the M & E works at the main treatment plant have commenced. In addition, a section of pipework is being completed by directional drilling and this is now underway.
Considering the challenges faced by the teams on-site this time of year, with inclement weather conditions and Covid-19, it is a credit to Brian Hayes, Aidan Dolan, Patrick Gibbons and the team and our nominated sub-contractors. A big thanks to all involved.
