East Midlands Region Wastewater Flow Monitoring and Sampling Programme 2014
The contract involved the installation and commissioning of flow monitoring and load measurement equipment at Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs) to advance the Flow Monitoring and Sampling Programme in the East Midlands Region.
The project was undertaken to reduce the significant deficit in flow monitoring across treatment facilities, pump stations and storm overflows. The aim is to provide adequate levels of metering to enable appropriate assessment of volumes of sewage treated or otherwise discharged from Irish Water’s networks. The initial focus of investment is on treatment plants where compliance with Urban Wastewater Directive is impacted by the lack of appropriate metering infrastructure, and plants that are reported to be operating at, or near, design capacity.
