Waterford Disinfection Programme
Glan Agua worked on behalf of Irish Water on the National Disinfection Programme at 113 Sites throughout Co. Waterford. The programme was designed to bring all disinfection sites, primary and secondary, up to the same standard throughout Ireland.
Irish Water adopted the World Health Organisation approach to ensure that potable water is adequately disinfected and is free from any micro-organisms, parasites and from any substance which in numbers or concentrations can be a potential danger to human health.
Works included the upgrading of:
- Chemical storage and dosing infrastructure
- Chlorine contact time provision systems
- Disinfection systems using Ultra Violet (UV) barriers where required
- Monitoring instrumentation systems
- Control, telemetry and automation processes
